LESSON Month 01-Day 23
This end times discipleship program is uniquely designed to make disciples for Christ using the Word and a simple process of multiplication while increasing your circle of friends and having fun.
Keep in mind that we are entering in to the last days and there is a desperate need for prepared kingdom workers who understand the times in which we live!
Weekly memory Scripture: John 3:3
Today’s Scripture: Matthew 16. Please Underline verses that will help you make 12 end times disciples for Jesus.
Identify, in a way you can come back to for review, what scripture from today’s reading that will help me make 12 end times disciples for Jesus. You may want to highlight the scripture in your bible or you may want to write it out – however you can best come back for reminder and review.
Disciple: In our scripture reading today, Jesus asks His disciples in verse 15, “…who do you say that I am?”
Servant: Who do you say Jesus is?
D: I agree with what Peter answered in verse 16, “… You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
S: Jesus told Peter He would build His church on him (verse 18) and give him “… the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven… .” (verse 19)
D: And I believe Jesus can build multitudes of disciples from my 12, don’t you?
S: Yes, I believe Jesus can and will.
D: In verse 21, Jesus begins telling His disciples that He will be killed on a cross but 3 days later He will come back to life.
S: Peter didn’t understand so Jesus corrected him with, “You’re in My way because you think like everyone else and not like God.”
D: In verses 24-26 Jesus teaches the basis for our recent lessons on Month 1, Days 20 & 22. “If you give up your life for Me, you will find it.”
S: Jesus closes the reading by promising that He will, “… reward all people for what they have done.” Let’s make 12 disciples for Jesus who do likewise. Jesus will reward us handsomely both now and for eternity.
D: I have more questions about the Holy Spirit. First, will there be outward signs that my body is filled with the Holy Spirit?
S: Good question. Often there are.
D: Like what?
S: Remember what you read in Acts 2?
D: After Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, preached, about 3,000 people became disciples of Jesus. Right?
D: Peter told them in Acts 2:38-39, “Turn back to God! Be baptized (in water) in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven. Then you will be given the Holy Spirit. This promise is for you and your children. It is for everyone our Lord God will choose, no matter where they live.” Does that still apply to me?
S: Of course.
D: In Acts 3:1-10, Peter and John healed a man that was crippled since birth. Does healing come with the Holy Spirit?
S: It can. Jack Baron said after praying for me to receive the Holy Spirit, “If you allow the Holy Spirit to freely flow through you and if you give God all the credit, you will see miracles like the days of the early Christians.”
D: Have you?
S: Yes, and so will you. Meanwhile, let’s encourage at least one person today to invest 12 minutes a day into this life-changing 12 for Jesus training.
