1. Tips and Strategies for Living in the End Times

Great Truths For Living Life

For You

No matter what you do in life, this truth applies to you. You could be a wife and a mother, or you could be a husband and a father; you could work as a clerk in a store; you could be an assembly line worker; you could be a teacher or a business owner. No matter what you do, it's of secondary importance.

Our Mistake

Here is where we make our mistake, we do not understand "what we do" in this life is only the method or vehicle for our purpose in life.

Giving God Glory

Our purpose in life is to give God glory, and to give 100% effort to that purpose of praising Him. We are to give Him all glory, honor and praise in the good times and the bad; when we succeed, or when we fail; when we win, or when we lose. God is to have 100% of our effort in bringing him glory, honor and praise in whatever it is that we do, whenever we do it.

Must Commit 100% not 99%

We must understand that we cannot give 99.9% of our effort to bring God glory, and keep .1% back for ourselves. That holding back of .1% for ourselves will ensure that God is not in what we do! Imagine that!

God requires 100% glory for Himself before He will be in what we do along with us!

What does it look like when the Lord receives 100% credit and glory for the work we do, no matter if we are a store clerk, or a teacher, or a factory worker, or a business owner, or whatever.

What does it look like on Monday morning?

How do we do this?

That is a key question.

I believe it looks like, "our heart."

As we carry out our methods of living life in this world and doing our work, whatever that happens to be, our heart must be dead-set on giving 100% of the results to the glory of God.

How about that!

Our Purpose

Our purpose in life is to give 100% of what we do to the bringing of glory to God. We are to never quit, never give up, and never give in. We are to give 100% effort, no matter what the results, to God. We are to praise Him in the good times and the bad, to praise Him in victory and in defeat, to praise Him when we are mentally on top of the world and when we are mentally devastated.

When that is our purpose in life we will be Overcomers, and we will always be a part of the Remnant.

It is no accident that the name of this e-zine is "The Remnant".

2. Strategic Practical Spiritual Warfare

Overcomers

Spiritual Battles

One of the great Everyday Practical Spiritual Warfare battles is to stand firm in the face of temptations from the world.

Satan uses the world and its systems to entice and tempt us. He simply presents before us the human pleasures of his worldly system. Our own earthly, fleshly nature takes care of the rest. Our own lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life take over from there.

The spiritual warfare is not always with the devil and demons! In fact, I believe most spiritual warfare takes place within us. The battle is between right and wrong. We know what is right, but we want the things of the world.

We give the devil too much credit – much more than he deserves.

Some Characteristics of an Overcomer Would Be:

An overcomer does what is right even when the temptations of the world are great.

An overcomer chooses to not give up or give in even when the going is difficult.

An overcomer stands firm on the Word of God.

An overcomer does not compromise with the world, his own fleshly nature or the devil.

An overcomer faces adversity knowing that he has no strength of his own but that his strength is in the Lord.

An overcomer perseveres in spite of hard times.

An overcomer is determined to push on when the going gets tough.

An overcomer will delay self-gratification for the time so that rewards will be greater later on.

Revelation Defines an Overcomer

Revelation 12:11 tells us how overcomers defeat Satan and all his world systems: “they overcame him (the devil and his system) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

Jesus’ blood has already paid the price – that is taken care of for the overcomer.

To develop and strengthen our testimony, it is up to us to become engaged in the work of Christ.

Untested in America

In America, very few in everyday life have been called on to face death for their beliefs, so we remain untested in this area.

How about you – are you preparing yourself to stand strong in the face of adversity, even death? Many will be called to do just that in the last days.

No one likes to think about the kind of persecution that could bring death, so don’t be like an ostrich and bury your head in the sand. NOW is the time to develop your testimony and strengthen your faith for the persecution that is coming.

4. Thoughts To Meditate On

Living By Faith – Know That He Hears You

1 John 5:14-15 NIV

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.

Living by faith, not by sight means – to have complete faith in Jesus - it is knowing that He hears everything we say to Him – everything. That's much better than we do with our friends, our families, our business associates, or even ourselves. Because when God hears, He really hears.

We hear very little of what is said to us. How many times has one of your children had to re-tell you something because you weren't really listening in the first place? Or one of your friends? Or your spouse? Or a business associate? How do you feel when you have something really important to share with a friend, but he's so busy telling you about something in his life that he isn't really listening? And you're so frustrated at not being able to get him to listen that you don't hear what he's saying to you. How frustrated do you become when you have told your son three times to take out the trash, but he doesn't hear you?

This “hearing impairment” – or maybe “selective hearing” might be a better term – is a common thing in human beings. We're used to it. It's what we have come to expect, even though it can anger and frustrate us to no end. Whether we admit it or not, we all tend to think of God in human terms and this makes it very difficult to believe that He really hears us when we speak.

The important step in learning to live by faith is to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God is always tuned in, that you always have His undivided attention, that for Him, every moment of every day, you are the most important person of all! He wants you to express to Him what is on your heart; and you have His undivided attention.

Our problem is that we just can’t imagine that the creator of the massive universe, the universe without end, really and truly wants us to tell Him what is on our heart and He wants us to learn to listen as He tells us how much He loves us.

Pray that this knowledge will become a part of you – that He hears everything you say to Him. Engrave this knowledge on your heart, so you can truly take the step in learning to live by faith, not by sight.
