LESSON Month 01-Day 15
This end times discipleship program is uniquely designed to make disciples for Christ using the Word and a simple process of multiplication while increasing your circle of friends and having fun.
Keep in mind that we are entering in to the last days and there is a desperate need for prepared kingdom workers who understand the times in which we live!
Weekly memory Scripture: John 3:16
Today’s Scripture: 12:1-21. Please Underline verses that will help you make 12 end times disciples for Jesus.
Identify, in a way you can come back to for review, what scripture from today’s reading that will help me make 12 end times disciples for Jesus. You may want to highlight the scripture in your bible or you may want to write it out – however you can best come back for reminder and review.
Disciple: What does Jesus mean by “born again”?
Servant: Let’s read in John 3:3 what Jesus tells a Jewish leader named Nicodemus. “I tell you for certain that you must be born from above (born again) before you can see God’s kingdom.”
D: Sounds strange. How did Nicodemus respond?
S: He said in the next verse, “How can a grown man ever be born a second time?”
D: Good question. What did Jesus answer?
S: Jesus answered, “I tell you for certain that before you can get into God’s kingdom, you must be born not only by water, but by the Spirit. Humans give life to their children. Yet only God’s Spirit can change you into a child of God.”
D: Does “born of water” refer to the fluid in a human mother’s womb?
S: Good deduction. We were first born into a physical family with imperfect, human parents and problems that came all the way from Adam & Eve. Fortunately, Jesus teaches that we can be born a second time by the Holy Spirit into a spiritual family with God as our perfect parents. This allows us to personally experience being part of the family of God.
D: That sounds wonderful. Do I have to do anything to be born again into the family of God?
S: In John 1:12 you are told, “Yet some people accepted Him (Jesus) and put their faith in him. So he gave them the right to be the children of God.”
D: So if I accept Jesus and put my faith in him, I can be born again into the family of God?
D: I’m ready. How do I do it?
S: Just sincerely say this prayer: “Jesus, I love You. I confess that I have sinned. I am sorry for those sins and choose to live a better life. I forgive everyone who has sinned against me. Thank you for shedding Your blood on the cross to wash away my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Savior. I believe in You. I put my faith in You. I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord!” and believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. I open the door to my heart and invite You to come inside and live Your life through me. Thank you that I am now born again by the Holy Spirit into the family of God. Amen”
D: I feel better already. Is this prayer based on scriptures?
S: Yes. For example, in John 3:16 Jesus says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”. Also, Romans 10:9 says, “So you will be saved (and born again) if you honestly say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death’ “.
D: I sincerely said the prayer.
S: Congratulations! You are born again into God’s family. Welcome. It’s the best decision anyone could ever make.
