End Times Prayer For Christians - Our Greatest Resource

In the end times, as a True Believer faces the sufferings of this life, he has prayer for Christians, the greatest resource imaginable available to him.

In the end times as a True Believer you have the right to approach God whenever needed, and to ask God for the strength to walk through and to conquer the suffering or trials you are facing.

That is what end times prayer of the Christian is all about.

In Romans 8:18-27 Paul says the following:

18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?
25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

Here Paul is sayingat leased three things about end times prayer for the Christian.

1. In the end times prayers it will be revealed to the true believers what we will be as sons (and daughters) of God.

Note that the whole creation eagerly waits, just as we do, for the revealing of what we will be like as sons of God in the end times.

The whole creation, including us, has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to this present age we live in.  The closer it is to birth, the greater the pain of the childbirth will be.

So we see the signs of the childbirth all around us for the end times and tremendous pain will come upon us suddenly, at any time, as we move further into these end times.

2.  In their end times prayer believers do not know how to pray as they should.

Note the word "we." Paul includes himself in this, which is to say no believer knows how to pray. By nature, we are weak and lack the power, especially in these end times...

  • for prolonged concentration.
  • to avoid distractions.
  • to stop all wandering thoughts.
  • to prevent emotional changes.
  • to govern varying affections.
  • to know what lies in the future, even one hour from now.
  • to know what is really best for us and for our growth in any given situation.

3. In our end times prayer the Holy Spirit helps our infirmities. It is true that He helps us in all our infirmities, but the point of the passage deals only with prayer.

Note: it is assumed that you are praying. The need for intense prayer in these end times is great!

The Spirit is not going to force you to pray.  In the end times in which we live, there are so many distractions and interferences that were not faced by past generations that we must determine to be very intentional about prayer.

It is our responsibility to take the time to get alone and pray. When we do this, the Spirit begins to act both upon us and for us.

Note this also: the Spirit "helps our infirmities." What this means is that whatever our particular weakness is, He helps that weakness.

If you are truly sincere about prayer and you are wrestling to pray, then the will Spirit help you to control your concentration, distractions, wandering thoughts, emotional changes, and affections.

How does He do that?

As the True Christian Believer struggles in his or her end times prayer to pray by controlling his or her own flesh and its weakness, the Holy Spirit takes our mind and emotions and...

  • quiets and silences them.
  • stirs and excites them.
  • draws and pulls them.
  • directs and guides them.

He will lead you to pray, as you should, by helping you control and subject the flesh and by allowing you to concentrate upon the prayer.

When you know that the Holy Spirit will help you in your end times prayer, it is up to you to ask for that help as you approach different types of end times prayer.

There are a number of different types of Christian prayer that can be used in these end times.  I will just list them here for you along with reference scripture for an example of that type of prayer.
